Bio

Rebbekah Vega-Romero (she/her/ella) is a queer, neurospicy, Afro-Latina-Jewish performer, writer, and producer, who resides in her native NYC with her cat, King Arthur Yoda. She is a graduate of LaGuardia (FAME) High School, and holds a BA from Boston University. Rebbekah is a YoungArts award-winner, and an honoree for both the Jorge Maldonado "Changemaker," and the Doreen Montalvo "Do-It-Anyway" Scholarships.

Off-Broadway: Magnolia/Show/Boat: A River/Target Margin at NYU Skirball; Maria/The Rosenbergs/Multiple Workshops; Rini/The Moss Maidens/SheNYC Arts festival.

Regional: Luisa/The Fantasticks/Cape Playhouse; Maria/West Side Story/5th Avenue; Martha Cratchit/A Christmas Carol/Denver Center; plus countless other productions, readings & workshops.

Rebbekah is also an active cabaret artist in NYC, with performances at the Duplex, Green Room 42, Chelsea Table & Stage, Silvana's, and Feinstein's/54 Below. Her solo cabaret show, Ingenuity, is available for booking.

Writing Highlights: Rebbekah’s first full-length play, Smalls & Talls: A Duet for Two Women, is a 2024 Finalist for the Eugene O’Neill National Playwrights Conference. She is a 2025 BMI Bookwriting Advanced Workshop member, and attended 2025 Drama Club Camp Cohort 4. Rebbekah was an inaugural 2024 & 2023 Candela Fellow at the Dramatists Guild Foundation, and is now a founding member of the DIEZ collective. Rebbekah wrote, starred in, & produced the short  film “The Question,” an Official Selection of the Chain Festival, the Katra LatinX Film Festival, the Los Angeles Asian Film Awards and the NewFilmmakers Los Angeles. Rebbekah is a librettist member of the Untitled Writer’s Group. She is a produced playwright with Playground-NY, and the 24 Hours Plays at Mile Square Theatre. Rebbekah’s poetry has been featured by Sixfold & Ars.Poetica, and is the basis for Lace/Love/Letters, her customized art gift-shop.

Rebbekah hopes her work inspires other mixed-race girls to share their magic.
